Hello my name is Peter Sargent. I am a Senior Director with Gartner Inc as part of their Infrastructure and Operations consulting team. I joined Gartner after 32+ years with the IBM Comapny where I was a Senior Technical Staff Member.

I started out at IBM as a software tester for MVS/JES3 development in Poughkeepsie, NY. Over time my role evolved into managing large complex technical projects for IBM and their clients. In my current role with Gartner I help our clients understand and correct issues with their IT infrastructure; those issues could be in any or all of the realms of people, process, or technology.

I've lived in Round Rock, Texas since 1994. Round Rock is a historic town in Texas that was one of the waypoints on the Chisolm Trail during the late 1800s. Since then it has grown to become a bedroom community for Austin, Texas. The Austin area is a wonderful place to live and work. Austin prides itself on being the live music capital of the world and frankly, based upon my observations, I find no reason to doubt that claim.

Outside of work I enjoy riding my 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King around central Texas and taking pictures along my travels.

I also spend a great deal of time volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America, Capitol Area Council. I have been involved with the Scouting movement one way or the other since I was 8 years old.

Scouting is a program I believe in. I currently serve as the Training Chair for Council Sea Scout Committee and as District Chair for the San Gabriel District.
